When his son and the gaurd came in he stood. He looked at the healer then to his son and the gaurd. His top main in the elite corps. " Rose has been poisoned. Son you stay here and watch over her and the healer with the gaurd. Healer you get what you need to get and help her get better. " He picked up the plate and threw it into the fireplace. With a deep breath and a hatefull growl he walked for the door.
At the door and the healers words he gave a half grin only. " i'll do more than fire them. I'll kill them. " He left the room and as he went along the hallway, any maid or servent that was in charge of bringing meals or makeing them was told to get to the kitchen and fast.

In the kitchen 3 maids, 4 servants and 3 cooks lined up for him and stood there curiously waiting to hear what he had to say to them. Kitiara had been poisoned for a long period of time in small doses which had lead to her illness and eventually her death. The poison in her body also could have hurt her unborn child and Rose was lucky to be born as healthy as she was. But now someone in his own home was poisoning Rose his large amounts, and had the healer not smelled her food to see if it was fresh, Rose would have been dead in days. The healer had rushed to get what he kept to counter act the sort of plant he suspected was the cause for Roses' illness. Even with it, there was a good chance it could already be too late.

He looked at all that was gathered here. He searched the kitchen of it's produce, ingredieants and cooking utensils. His anger was evident as he moved around before he stopped and looked at each one of them. Which one could it be he wondered? And how long had this been going on?
" It has come to my attention....that someone in my staff of chefs, maids and servers that have most of their responsibilities in the kitchen and dining area has been poisioning my little girl. And most likely caused the death of my Kitiara. I want to know who, I want to know why, And I want to know RIGHT NOW! "

Most of the staff stood there looking confused, not having anything to do with it but one of the male cooks and the male servants looked away from him, not wanting to look him in the eyes. As it got tense the male chef suddenly broke into a run for the door. In his pocket was a bottle of the laced poison, and his accomplice who saw him run, suddenly darted after him, and in his pocket was a bottle of powdered poison.

He watched each one carefully. Each one that looked back at him without turning away seemed honest enough. But two....two of them looked away. He gave only a snort of anger and then one, and the other ran. His motions were fast as he pulled from his waist his Battle axe and threw it. Two ways out of the kitchen, he was in the way of one, and now his axe pinned the door on the other side closed as he embedded itself into the wood.
He looked at the others that stood there suprised and shocked. " Stay put if you value your lives. " he then turned to the other two that by now were trying to pry the blade from the doorway to leave. In large quick strides he came up to them and grabbed each by the neck. " What little mercy you could have been shown, just went out the door. Now you have answers for me or shall I......beat them out of you? "

They turned frightened of him as he held them by the necks, neither of them had any motive for poisoning the ladies of the Fire Lords house, it felt so random and neither of them where talking. the staff who took no part in their plans backed away since Novakon could be a fearsome lord. It seemed Kitiara and Rose had been poisoned because they where both vulnerable and some people where just heartless. Killing Kitiara as bad enough but now the two men had attempted to poison and kill his innocent child.

He frowned and when he heard nothing that he liked he dropped them slowly. But only long enough to remove from their pockets the poison in which they had used. They dared to have done such things....tampering with the kingdom like this was bad. Killing his beloved wife was unforgivable, and to try and kill his little girl, the last peice of his wife that he had left was death. With the bottled in one hand he took one step back. Time to set an example that will be remembered.
He stretched out his free hand and with hatred for what they had done, and with anger at their act of cowardice several massive energy waves left his hand. Dismembering each poor cowardly drathir. When their screams died away he turned to the others. They would know full well that they could be next, so could anyone that ever crossed him in such a way.
He breathed in as he walked to where the others stood and stopped. He returned to the door and removed his ax, placeing it back at his waist. then he headed for the others once more. " Remember well not to ever harm my family. Clean this mess up, and have a repair and remodeling crew come in and re make this kitchen. From now on, all food will be prepared fresh, and infront of two of my elite gaurds, or by myself personaly. " He then left and when he came across the healer, handed him the poisons.

With the poisons used to make Rose sick his healer was able to treat Rose, who at first became violently ill from the treatment given to her by the healer, but after working it out of her system and over the next several days began to come around. Her fever had broken, and she was starting to get hungry again. She remained in bed the whole time but hated the taste of the bitter medicine she had to take to help her get well. Novakon had spent his wifes final months hunting for a cure that was so simple, for a disease that never existed. She had been murdered, and Rose had been left without a mother, and him without the love of his life. Kitiara’s spirit had somehow knew Rose was becoming ill, but perhaps her spirit didn’t know that she had been poisoned.

Once more he never left her side whlie she was getting better. When she needed food the ingredients where broght into the room and prepared infront of him before she was given something to eat. Kitiara....she had know Rose was ill. And Kitiara had been done the same. And he had wasted so much time hunting a cure that never exsisted for a illness that was nothing more than poison. Oh how he felt so low and miserable.
When he was able to take a short break when Rose was better and his son watching over her he went to the grave. Here he fell to his knees and cried. Such a fool....such an uselss father and husband he had been. All of his strength and not the wisdom to use or keep his family safe. Was all of it worth anything in the end?

Though Rose had been left in her brother’s capable care, her little ears often picked up sounds not most others often heard, She had her brother pick her up and take her to the window were she could see him down in the garden. She felt his sorrow even though she didn’t know why he was so sad to begin with. Kitiara did not appear to him in the garden, but had she not given him that warning Rose would surely of been dead now, and he would b burying a small gave beside that of his beloved wife.

He whispered his thanks to his love. And whispered that she had been done the same. That he had been gone when he needed her and could have saved her should he had been home. He promised then, to do his best to keep her memory and their daughter alive. He stood after awhile and returned to the palace, to his little . It was time to tell her.

Rose held onto her older Brother who was now for a while a man as he entertained her in their father’s room. She smiled a bit and giggled at him when the sound of the door was heard and Novakon had come back from the garden. She looked up from the bed as she looked over at her Father, “Daddy…. Why do you look so sad?” She asked him softly as she leaned back on his pillows.

He smiles softly as he lay back. With his daughter in his arms he couldn't help but laugh at her innocence. " Daddy is sad, because he has to tell you something sad. Mommy died, the day you were born. She died bringing you into this world, but only because daddy made her angry. "

Rose just sat there looking at him un-phased and clueless as to what he was talking about. Rose didn’t know the first thing about the difference between life and death, nor what it meant to be either one. It was becoming clear that even though she knew the word ‘mommy’ she didn’t understand at all that it meant the same thing as he was ‘daddy’ to her. Rose merely thought it was just another word to use in her small vocabulary.

He smiled and sighed. He knew she would remember this as she grew. And as she grew would begin to understand. He simply took her into his arms and held her loveingly. Thanking his love for that warning. His little was all that was left of her. But now....he knew it was time to make good on his promise. And he had one in mind that would be best for it.
During the rest of the months he began to regularly speak to Willow through letters or during get togethers. Courting her in sublte ways to take it slow. And when he wasn't doing that he was slowly teaching Rose about life. Starting her teachings with the simple things first so that when she was older she would understand better. All of this happened had been happening well to her Fifth birthday.
