Race Name: Shakra
Planet Name: Shakra Omega 6 (also known as SO6)
Race Appearance: Shakra’s are upright humanoids with a shark twist. They resemble over 300 types of different sharks ranging in a wide variety of colors based upon actual sharks. Markings, tails and fin types distinguish the type of shark a Shakra is. And Adult Shakra ranges anywhere between 5 to 7 feet tall when standing upright, and have long tails roughly the same length as their body from base to tip, the tail grows out just over the top of the rear end in the lower back region, and aids them in swimming swiftly through the water. All Shakra’s have 2 head fins/spines, which is located in the back of the skull while hair grows in the front around the forehead and the sides. Unlike normal sharks Shakra’s have long slender fin like ears that resemble stiff like rabbit ears that tend to twitch as they listen. Shakra’s also have dorsal fins located in the center of their backs just above their tails. Shakra’s only have 4 fingers, 3 fingers and opposable thumb, and 4 toes that are clawed. Smaller body fins used to help swim faster are located between the wrist and the elbow along the outer sides of the arm rather then on top or bottom and also in the back of the leg between the ankle and the knee. Shakra’s also have gills right along the sides of their ribcage that allows them to filter the oxygen in the water into breathable substance for their lungs, but also has a flap just under the gills that closes and allows the Shakra to breath their noses fresh oxygen when not under water.
Females have standard humanoid female parts, adults develop breasts and have humanoid genitalia while Male’s like humans have the same physical characteristics in genitalia with the exception they can retract it all into the body. Shakra’s teeth come in standard humanoid looking teeth with the exception of considerably longer canines, and a second row behind those teeth, of razor sharp shredding teeth on both top and bottom that retract down into the gum line unseen when not in use. Shakra’s have an unlimited supply of teeth that are set in layered rows in the gums. If one tooth falls out, a tooth from another layer takes its place. A Shakra may shed as many as 7,000 teeth in its lifetime. Because of the Shakra’s constant workouts in swimming they have powerful muscle toned bodies that are both powerful in and out of the water. Shakra’s also have a clear protective lid that covers the eye when they are swimming or hunting, and retracts on land.
Race Description: Shakra’s are commonly known as stubborn, thingyy creatures that sometimes mouth off to each other and to others, and share very little compassion to anyone other then their own kind. Aggressive hunters Shakra’s will pretty much consume any hunt-able living thing. Shakra’s are ruled by a King who rules with an iron fist, and while some Shakra’s disagree with the methods he uses in his government others are loyal fanatics and would lay their lives down for him in a heartbeat. Shakra’s personality wise resemble somewhat to Saiyans.
Life Span: Between 1 and 380 years
Abilities/Powers: Breathing under water, able to move swiftly under water and with stand water pressure depths, hand to hand combat, pin prick hearing allowing them to hear even the smallest of sounds, increased sense of smell, sensitive places in their skin allowing them to feel ultrasonic vibrations, sensitive sight allows them to see in murky conditions and in the dark, and ki
Mating/Reproduction: Shakra’s were never smart enough to have religious beliefs, so nothing beyond death was ever thought about, and why ceremonies for males and females never occur. Females while being the most aggressive of all Shakra’s are usually dominated by a single male when chosen to mate. Shakra’s mate for the entire coarse of their lives, and normally produce between 5 to 30 children during their life span and some Shakra’s choose to keep their offspring number low. Mating rituals are like any other humanoid creature, and pregnancies last between 9 to 11 months at which time they have a live birth.
Should a female Shakra never mate, her body goes into a forced reproductive state, at which time the body fertilizes itself creating her a child. This process only occurs after a certain amount of time after the body is ready for reproduction but does not actually take part in the mating process. It’s not uncommon for Shakra’s to interbreed with family, and is mostly seen in the royal line. New mother’s gain increased aggressive instincts to protect their pups at any cost and is not unusual that she would attack her own mate if he were threatening her pup. In the event a mate should die, the spouse grieves for an almost non-existent amount of time before going out to find a new one to replace the old one with.
Family life: Shakra’s normally have strong emotional bonds to family, sometimes so strong they will act out aggressively or physically towards others when it comes to family protection. Mother’s protect their pups with a fiery passion, while father’s teach them the skills they will need as adults in life, everything from education to professions and self defense, only learning hunting skills from their mothers. Most Shakra’s prefer large families to small ones, and pups are usually sent out to make lives for themselves as soon as they reach adulthood, rarely seeing their parents once they’ve left home. Males are family protectors, their home is their castle to provide for, insuring their mate is never hassled by single male’s his aggression comes from protecting the woman he has.
