Planet Name: Planet Konos
Race(s): Konoians
Planet Description:
The planet is around the same size as Earth. It is a lush planet with oceans, mountains, and forests. 42% of the planet’s surface is land mass and 22% of that land mass if Mountains; the rest is massive forests and small to large openings in the forest where cities lie. All types of animals live on this planet, like they do on Earth. The planet is a very habitable place to be at. It even has cleaner air than Earth.
The forest contains trees that stand to above 200 feet tall. A lot of the smaller villages are built up in the tree while the cities are built in the open portions in the center of the forests. Konoians are slightly more advanced in technology than humans to where their energy sources are healthy and not polluting the planet. The planet is a peaceful planet with no set government. The villages have Leaders who are just a “representative” of that village. He helps the people more than boss and order people around. In the cities, there is a Mayor who watches over the city and helps set up trade.
In each one of the cities and villages there are statues of Minosha and Tapion. The two warriors of legend which had stopped the evil beast named Hirudagan. The children of the planet are grown up being told about the two heroes, often being told that those two boys are the reason they are alive today. There is a annual celebration called “Hero Festival” that is held on the day that Tapion and Minosha was sealed away in the music boxes; it is held planet wide and all families, poor and wealthy, celebrate that noble day.
The economy is set up like a barter system. They have shops that accept money, Zenny, but they prefer trading one thing for another more than money since most never leave the planet. There are merchants, traveling merchants, and farmers who sell their own stuff or things they have obtained during their travels or lives. They typical use the Zenny, currency of the universe, only when trade ships of the several planets around them land once every 4 months to buy things. They are typically a self sufficient people since they create things they need.
Planet History:
Konos has had an interesting past. The world use to be a peaceful planet like it is now filled with Konoians that saw nothing around them to threaten their enjoyable life. They were wrong how ever. There planet was invaded by an evil race that saw themselves as the superior race of the universe and began to destroy all the other races. They found an ancient evil on Konos that was thought to be wiped out long ago.
Hirudagan was revived and began to destroy the planet by the orders of his new masters. The Konoians began to run from their beloved home. Many left the planet and headed for different worlds to save their lives fearing the worse would happen. Some just fled into the mountains and hid on the planet from the dreaded beast that was destroying their world. They were not a fighting race so they were unable to defend their planet. They thought for sure their planet was destroyed because of the select few who were trained in the art of swordsmanship were unable to face the beast and live. It seemed nothing hurt the beast’s hard shell. Konos was done for…
A Wizard, name is unknown, stood up and decided it was time they took their planet back from this beast and its masters. He set out to the ancient ruins in the mountains alone and discovered an ancient blade and two ocarinas. They felt strongly of magic so he took them thinking they would help him finish the beast. He tried to play the ocarina alone while wielding the blade but the weapon and ocarina proved to do nothing the way he wielded them. He was beaten on his first encounter and was lucky enough to escape with his life.
He studied the items and decided that the ocarinas needed pure concentration before they worked; also one of good heart and meant to protect the world. He set out to find people to join him on his cause. He walked into the city that was in the path of the Hirudagan’s next attack. He didn’t have to ask around for two to stand up and fight. Tapion and his brother, Minosha, stood up and said they would fight the beast alone if they had to; they were tired of running in fear and this was their world. The wizard approached them and told them of the items. They accepted their new ocarinas.
The three took on the beast alone in the ruins miles from the city Tapion was in before. The ocarinas together worked very well on the beast and made him succumb to the pain and try to remove the ocarina users and end his pain. He was distracted and the wizard knew it was time. He cut the beast in half and decided it was best to seal the two pieces in the two heroes; Tapion and Minosha agreed saying it was the best for the planet and people. The original sword was given to Tapion and a replica of not so great power given to Minosha along with the ocarinas they were given before. The Wizard designed two music boxes that would seal the two boys in there cases to make sure Hirudagan would never be able to escape again. Then the two boxes were sent to the opposite ends of the universe.
The Wizard never took claim to the destruction of the beast. He told stories of the two heroes, Tapion and Minosha, saying they fought bravely and ended the beast’s destructive rampage. He always saw Tapion and Minosha as the true heroes due to their great sacrifice to protect their home world by giving up their freedom and lives to seal Hirudagan away. He died around 100 years later; he was older than most knew it seemed. He lived to be over 800 years old.
Over 200 years after the death of the Wizard, the Legend of the Two Heroes was known all over the planet and to all the Konoians. Statues were built in the cities and villages of Tapion and Minosha to honor them for their sacrifice and to say thanks for protecting the planet when they didn’t have to. The planet was beginning its repopulation process. The Konoian race was no longer in danger of being wiped out. The small handful that had fled the planet return and the even smaller groups who lived through the destruction came to repopulate the world.
700 years had passed since those days of rebirth. The planet has become a very lush and healthy world. The Konoians have finally reached the peek in their society and the planet has healed. Forests sprouted up like weeds after the planet no longer had the beast or threats to ruin the landscape. Out of the 1.2 million people on the planet only 12%, or 100,000, are trained in combat. These people are the only defending force for this planet of peaceful beings but they live normal lives as merchants, farmers, hunters, and other simple things.
The heroes, Tapion and Minosha, have been gone for over 1,000 years and thought to be dead.
